About us

It started with a going-away party

More than fifteen years ago, we set up a photobooth as a going-away present for a friend. It was such a hit that people at the party kept asking where they could get one for theirs.

Over 1,000 events later, we're still answering that question. Weddings, staff Christmas parties, grads, fundraisers, community events — the booth has seen them all, everywhere from hotel ballrooms to community halls across the Peace Region.

Some companies have booked us for their Christmas party every single year since the beginning. And more than once, someone who mugged for our camera as a kid at a community event has booked the same booth for their own wedding, fifteen years on.

That run makes us the Peace Region's original photobooth company — around the longest, and the one you can count on to still be here when your date arrives. When you're booking a wedding or a Christmas party a year out, that matters.

The quiet crew

Every booth comes with a technician — and if we've done our job, you'll barely notice them. Our nature is to keep the spotlight on the event: your tech sets everything up, stays out of the way, and stays available to fix any hiccup fast, so the party carries on without a hitch. Fifteen years of that is why our booths have earned a reputation as the most dependable around.

We fuss over the photos themselves just as hard — lighting, framing, print quality. These strips end up on fridges and in wedding albums, so every booth gets test shots and print checks before the first guest walks up.

We're proud to be a first job for a lot of local summer and college students, who train up as booth techs season after season. And Russell Eggleston — owner and occasional photobooth tech from the very start — is still often found on-site, setting up a booth or two.

PhotoRental.ca is the photobooth brand of Sound In Town, the Fort St. John event production company. The same crew runs sound, lighting and AV for venues across the region, and we work directly with hotels — if your event is at a partner venue, you can often book the booth straight through your venue contact.
